10% goes directly to surrounding communities via the revenue-sharing programme.
RDB's tourism revenue sharing funds schools, clinics, and water infrastructure.
Every franc stays in the Rwandan economy — guides, porters, lodges, and artisans.

10% of every gorilla permit is redistributed to communities bordering the park — funding schools, health centres, and clean water projects. Gerry partners exclusively with community cooperatives for cultural visits, coffee experiences, and porter recruitment.

Our lodge partners — Wilderness at Bisate and Singita at Kwitonda — have collectively reforested over 200 acres of degraded land on the park boundary, creating wildlife corridors and carbon sinks.

Gerry Tours is 100% Rwandan-owned and operated. Every guide, driver, porter, and artisan in our network is Rwandan. Tourism revenue stays in the communities that protect the gorillas.
Every year, Rwanda celebrates Kwita Izina — a national ceremony where newly born gorillas are given names. Since 2005, over 370 gorillas have been named, symbolising Rwanda's commitment to conservation and the deep bond between the Rwandan people and their mountain gorillas.
