Rwanda Visa-on-Arrival


Effective from January 1st 2018, citizens of all countries will get a visa upon arrival without prior application at a cost of $30.  Please see here.

An East African tourist visa is also available for clients wishing to travel between Kenya, Uganda & Rwanda, to be applied for online  at a cost of $100 and valid for 90 days. One has to apply to the respective country of the first point of entry.

Visa Extension:

A class T2 visa can be extended for a further 90 days at the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration offices.

An initial visa issued by a Rwandan Diplomatic Mission will be valid for 90 days.

Applications should be made whilst the current visa remains valid.


*One clear colored passport size photo with white background, recently taken without glasses, caps and scurf; (the photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable).

To avoid penalties, the applicant should apply/renew visa in time before expiration of current visa. Penalty fee is 20,000 Frw in a period of 06 to 15 days of the delay.Article 34 of the Ministerial Order establishing procedures and regulations categorizes other penalties from 16 days to 9 months and above.

How to get to Rwanda
Kigali International Airport is serviced daily by a number of International airlines, including SN Brussels, KLM, South African Airways, Qatar Airlines, Rwandair, Kenya Airways, Turkish Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines. Rwanda can also be reached by land from Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, DR Congo and Tanzania.
